UAE's second retail sovereign sukuk draws strong demand and lists on Nasdaq Dubai

The Ministry of Finance's five-year retail T-Sukuk attracted AED 285 million in orders against a AED 50 million target, with investors from 110 nationalities, and now trades on Nasdaq Dubai.

The UAE Ministry of Finance has listed its second Sovereign Retail T-Sukuk on Nasdaq Dubai, opening secondary trading on 2 October 2026. The issue was a clear vote of confidence in the UAE: orders reached AED 285 million against a target of AED 50 million, and investors from 110 nationalities took part.

The key facts

  • Issuer: UAE Ministry of Finance, under the Sovereign Retail T-Sukuk Programme.
  • Tenor: five years.
  • Profit rate: 5.06%, announced on 22 September 2026, with profit paid twice a year.
  • Minimum investment: AED 1,000.
  • Subscription: 23 to 28 September 2026.
  • Trading: units can now be bought and sold on Nasdaq Dubai through authorised brokers, with market makers supporting liquidity.

Why it matters

Retail sovereign sukuk give individuals direct access to UAE government-backed, Sharia-compliant savings, in dirhams, at a low minimum. Listing on Nasdaq Dubai means investors are not locked in for five years: they can add to or exit their holding through the exchange.

For international residents building a life in the UAE, it is another sign of a deepening local capital market and of the government's focus on giving residents more ways to save and invest locally.
